Peter Jeffery
Peter as per Geoff Sharp, and David Thurlow all came to Lot 6 via the Company Garage. Peter also was well established in motor racing, at the time successfully racing his own Formula V. Big Al had a policy “you work on my cars or drive your own, not both”. Peter had a “look alike” and a pseudonym whenever there was a race meeting involving both the Formula V’s and the Series Production cars – until Big Al decided the “look alike” actually worked for him. Peter’s loyalty saw him step out of his beloved race car and direct his energies into the Team.
The previous competitiveness also extended to a perceived “in house” competitor to title of “Best Mechanic” – named Alistair. This sometimes resulted in “hammers at 10, 6 or 3 paces” sometimes at dawn!
Peter followed Geoff to the great race team in the sky. Their skills are not needed but their memories live on.
