Brian Mackellin
Brian Mackellin started his career in the automotive industry in the drawing office of the Technical centre of GMH in Fishermans Bend, and later moved over to the Ford Research Centre.
When Big Al dropped the BC truck project on us at Lot 6, Ian requested some support and assistance from a couple of contractors, specifically asking for his very talented and trusted friend Brian Mackellin. On completion of the BC project, Ian requested that Brian stay on at Lot 6 to help out with a number of projects. These included things like an aftermarket package for the 250 ci Falcon 6, but the best of these aftermarket packs was one for a V6 Capri and it transformed that car into a genuine GT that was just extraordinary. Brian also helped with some design projects on the Super Falcon such as the fully floating rear axle and suspension geometry evaluations. In between all this Brian undertook the task of designing and supervising the build of our own racing car transporter complete with spare engines, gear boxes and other sundry spares with tyres etc.
Post Lot 6, Brian went to Nissan Australia as assistant Chief Engineer and later to SAAB Australia and NZ as After Sales Manager.
Brian is travelling at the moment so I am hoping he will be happy with my embellishment of his story. Fingers crossed.
